Rare! US Scott # 2 on Cover ~ Louisville KY to Philadelphia PA - VG Cond
This cover has the Scott #2 - 10c Black stamp in very good condition and was mailed from Louisville, Kentucky from a famous law firm of Jarvis & Trabue & Co at the time on August 24, 1850 (see return address written on back). The letter was mailed to D S Brown & Company in Philadelphia PA.
Postmark: Strong and clearly visible with full circle hand stamped from Louisville, KY. Stamp not tied.
Stamp: 10c stamp is well centered with a clip in the upper right side and a fold down the center of the stamp.

The cover consists of a large folded sheet of paper. It possibly originally contained notes for collection.
This cover matches the description of the 8/26/47 entry from Louisville PA to Philadelphia in the Thomas J Alexander Papers in the APRL (source is H R Harmer sale May 5, 1971 lot 59).
