Notes
According to James Leonardo, this cover originally had a horizontal pair of 5c stamps but only a small portion of the right stamp remains on cover, showing sheet margin at right. The letter was written by Martin L Fisher.
Thomas Alexander told James Leonardo that the cover is owned by the American Antiquarian Society
Alexander listed as 7/11/50
Image and some information from the Thomas J Alexander Papers, American Philatelic Research Library (ARPL), Bellefonte Pa courtesy of Tara Murray & her staff.
The dating of this cover appears incorrect. Alexander’s notes date the cover as both 7/11/50 and 7/14/50. It certainly looks like 14 to me. The listing date came from the dateline of the letter and certainly could have been mailed three days later.
Cover scan supplied by Tillinghast (?) on June 2, 1994
