Capt. R. N. Swift traveled extensively through Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. His wife carefully docketed and numbered each letter sent home. this one, number 36, postmarked by Olive Grove Postmaster, Merrhesea Roasier, March 27, 1851, received in North Fairhaven on April 8th.

[Actually, Capt. Rhodolphus Nye Swift managed some tracts of live oak trees in these areas, sending the lumber back home to the family mills in Mass for the shipbuilding industry, Creighton Hart showed that the towns in Georgia, Alabama, and Florida he mailed letters from were all within a 20 mile, or so, radius along the Chattahoochee River.]

March 27 manuscript postmark on cover to North Fairhaven Mass., small repair on top flap extending to top edge, Fine, Olive Grove did not receive a supply of either denomination of the 1847 Issue, thirteen 10c covers are known, all from the Swift correspondence, it is interesting that the postmaster used a grid cancel, but did not have a town postmarking device
