Oct. 1" circular datestamp on blue 1847 folded letter to Charleston S.C., gently cleaned and stamp barely affected by horizontal file fold (not mentioned on accompanying certificate), Very Fine, with 1992 P.F. certificate describing this as "Blackish Brown, in the family of Ridgeway's Van Dyke Brown (XVIII-11"-m)" and accompanied by note explaining analysis of shade
