Lot #606. (2) 10¢ Washington, used on cover, pen cancel. Almost four margins, cut in at UL. Cover with a red Washington DC cds. and has a folded small tear at upper and lower center. Stamp is not tied, therefore sold as a used stamp. F-VF. Catalog value $700.00.

1847 10c black Washington (Scott #2) single canceled by two manuscript pen strokes on 1850 dated folded letter sent from Washington, DC to Coventry, Connecticut. Accompanying red June 18, Washington, DC circular date stamp at bottom left. The stamp features a crisp color and ample to large on all sides to just in at top left. 1847 Issue stamps canceled by manuscript pen strokes not in "X" formations are considerably less common than the typical manuscript pen "X". A very fine 10c 1847 Issue folded letter sent from Washington, DC.
