It Is A Genuine Usage
September 1847 folded letter from Washington DC to London England. 10 cent stamp paid postage to Boston. Sailed on the Cunard ship Britannia leaving Boston on October 1 and arriving in Liverpool on October 16 where the manuscript 1 shilling due marking was applied. The letter arrived in London on October 16. London date stamp is on the back.
