Notes
A very attractive folded letter use of the first US General Postage Issue, SC #1 five cent Franklin of 1847. The postmark and correspondence dates its use to March 1851. The orange cancellation neatly ties the stamp to this cover. There are also no extraneous notations on this piece as quite often found/added by dealers and collectors. As noted on the certificate there is a small tear at the left approximately midway between the bottom of the stamp and the file fold.
