Notes
Scott # 1 five cent red brown on a 1850 cover. The stamp has a red circular grid cancel tying it to the cover and a New Haven Connecticut May 4 (1850) postmark. There is a "Paid 5 C" in manuscript at the lower left. The rear has been torn during opening. The stamp is very nice with good color. A very pretty and scarce cover
