Scott #1 1847 5c Franklin Single On Folded Letter ~ New Haven, CT To Clinton, NY (250)
1847 5c red brown Franklin (Scott #1) single tied by red circular grid cancel on folded letter sent from New Haven, Connecticut to Clinton, New York. Red April 25, New Haven circular date stamp cancel at bottom left. The stamp and cover are slightly affected by minor age spots, otherwise the stamp exhibits ample to large margins all around. An very nice appearing piece of 1847 Issue postal history.
