Illustrated in Boggs, page 87. ¨Estimate $7,500-10,000
Provenance: Dale-Lichtenstein.
Since the 3p Beaver was not issued until April 23, 1851 and the 1847 Issue was demonetized on July 1st, of that year, there was only a brief period when the two issues could have been legitimately used together. However, the piece was most likely allowed even at this late date, as 95% of the 80 or so post-demonetization 1847 covers were accepted as valid.
