Letter from Joseph S. Winter & Company, a bank formed by John Gindgat and his son-in-law, Joseph Samuel Winter (1821-95) in 1847-48. Winter married Mary Elizabeth Gindrat (1835-96). John Gindrat (1777-1851) was a founder of Montgomery, an early Mayor, and an inverstor in real estate and a banker.
