Lot 1098 #1, 5c red brown, ample to wide margins except barely touching right, tied by Mobile paint cancellation, matching cds at lower left to entire letter datelined Feb 19, 1851 referring to difficult conditions for cotton, clean and very fine
Ivy & Mader sale Sept 28, 1995
Alexander listed a 2/19/51 cover to an unknown location and addressee. His notes show the description and scan from lot 1098 of the Ivy & Mader sale. The stamp, cancellation, CDS, and bleed-thru writing match perfectly to the 2/24/51 cover scan provided by Van, which was mailed on 2/24/51 and is also in the census.
The 2/19/51 listing is, therefore, a duplicate entry for this cover, and has been removed from the census.
