1847 5c red brown Franklin (Scott #1) single tied by a blue circular grid cancel on 1851 dated folded letter sent from Utica to Oswego, New York. Accompanying ornate blue Utica, New York oval date stamp cancel at bottom center of the cover. The folded letter is in overall very fine condition with the 5c stamp showcasing ample margins on three sides and horizontal pre-use crease. A very fine appearing piece of 1847 Issue postal history from Utica, New York.
