Rare 1847 issue cover from Xenia, Ohio. One of only 3 known 1847 issue covers from Xenia Manuscript cancel. Stamp cut in at left and into the frameline at right (it does have full top and bottom margins). No content, envelope has backflap.
Xenia, Ohio, 5 cent 1847 cover (Scott 1), manuscript cancel just ties, envelope is badly aged, red postmark, stamp is in at left and along the frame at right. But Xenia is the only 1847 town starting with "x" and there are only 3 Xenia covers in the Alexander census, including this one. Xenia only received 1700 5 cent stamps.
