FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

U.S. Classics 2009 At APS Headquarters In Bellefonte A Spectacular Success

November 25, 2009... The U.S. Philatelic Classics Society announces a true celebration of philately with the success of U.S. Classics 2009. Over three hundred people interested in classic 19th century United States stamps and postal history converged on the APS headquarters in Bellefonte, PA, October 30-November 1, 2009, to enjoy world-class exhibits, an excellent dealer bourse, the concurrent Postal History Symposium and the fellowship of other U.S. collectors and specialists. A major highlight of the weekend was a charity auction with donated lots from Heritage Auction Galleries/Bennett, David Feldman USA, Eric Jackson, Regency Superior, Schuyler Rumsey Philatelic Auctions, Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries, Charles & Tracy Shreve, Don Tocher, James E. Lee, Greg Sutherland and Ed Field, raising over $8,000 for the society. Additionally, the society dedicated the Classics Society meeting room at the American Philatelic Center. To experience a taste of the fun had by all at U.S. Classics 2009, join the Classics Society at their upcoming annual meeting at ARIPEX in Mesa, Arizona, February 12-14, 2010.

About the U.S. Philatelic Classics Society

The U.S. Philatelic Classics Society is the only organization that studies in depth the stamps and postal history of the United States from the Colonial era to 1900. Our members include both collectors and students. Many have written articles that have been published in our award winning quarterly magazine, The Chronicle of the U.S. Classic Postal Issues, and in other publications. Information about the USPCS, membership, its publications, and articles of interest to collectors and students of the classic period of U.S. philately, can found at the society's website at www.uspcs.org. Copies of back issues of the Chronicle and previously published books are also available from the society's bookstore, accessible from the society's website, or directly at http://www.uspcs.org/store.html.
